The Zambia Association of Manufacturers ZAM says lack of availability of market information on the kind of products required in other countries is a serious hurdle most local manufactures are facing.

ZAM chief executive officer Florence Muleya says to effectively utilize international exports markets some companies require technical assistance.

Ms. Muleya says aspects such as quality standards, packaging and labeling need to be known, on how best they are needed in most countries Zambia export.

Speaking at a media briefing in Lusaka Ms. Muleya says despite trading with the South Africa and United States Zambia has recorded a trade deficit of about 2 billion dollars of which 260 million dollars was with the united states of America.

Ms. Muleya says it is for this reason the association, in collaboration with the USAID trade hub is hosting the second Zambia exporter awards on the 16th june,2022.
