Ruling United Party for National Development UPND members have been commended for heeding the presidential directive to be violent free and avoid confusion by way of attempting to take over the running of bus stations and markets over the past 9 months.
UPND spokesperson Cornelius Mweetwa says this shows that the party has disciplined cadres who are willing to end harassment and violence against other citizens.
Mr. Mweetwa says the party is however aware of some members of the opposition patriotic front that have continued with such vices but implicating the upnd in an attempt to bring government into disrepute.
Mr. Mweetwa says having been in opposition for a long time, the party has gained in enough experience to learn from the mistakes that led to the defeat of former governments hence concentrating on the development of the country.
