Some concerned residents of Chaisa township of Lusaka have expressed concern over the delay by government to start funding the cooperatives that applied for the constituency development fund [CDF] program.

Some concerned residents spoken to notes that the delay to empower cooperatives is causing some youths to start engaging in criminal activities such as attacking individuals as a way of survival.

They said that the crime rate in the area has continued to increase due to lack of empowering the unemployed youths among them the political cadres that were removed from public institutions such as bus stations and markets.

They have since called on government to simplify the process of benefiting from the CDF so as to accumulate the youth unemployment levels in the country.
