Energy Regulations Board [ERB] Chairperson, Reynolds Bowa has hinted at the possibility of reverting back to the quarterly review of fuel pump price depending on trends in international oil prices.

Mr Bowa says should the petroleum prices become more stable on the internationally, ERB can revise the review period of fuel pump price to a longer period of quarterly or yearly.

Mr Bowa however, states that as things stand, the monthly review will continue.

He says at present, the ERB research indicates  that the monthly review of fuel prices is the correct way.

He says the role of the ERB is to protect the public from exploitative fuel pricing as well as to set prices at the level which assures the continued supply of petroleum products to the market.

Mr Bowa says the supply of petroleum is a business like any other, adding that players in this business can only operate if they are able to get returns on their investments.
