The Centre for Trade Policy and Development (CTPD) has backed plans by the Ministry of Mines and Minerals Development to review the mines and minerals development policy.
CTPD Executive Director, Isaac Mwaipopo says this is a significant and timely decision on the part of government which calls for support from stakeholders to ensure it is actualized without delay.
Mr. Mwaipopo says CTPD is actively supporting the process to review the policy by way of mobilizing civil society organizations to add their input.
He notes that the review of the mines and mineral development policy will also promote diversification in the extractive sector.
