Reporting Defamation of the President suspects in far areas a danger to their lives – Dr. Chiputa

Historian, Dr. Euston Chiputa has charged that those reporting people for Defamation of the President in far flung areas are endangering their lives.

Dr. Chiputa who is a lecturer at the University of Zambia has told QTV news that this is considering that the suspects have to be transported by road to faraway places putting them at risk of road traffic accidents.

He says this is not in the best interest of the UPND government, and the country’s democracy.

Dr. Chiputa states that the people lodging the complaints will not be answerable should anything tragic occur, but the government and the President will be answerable.

He says the dangerous trend the ruling party is entertaining where it is tolerating party officials reporting individuals to the Police is endangering the future of the party.
