The Tobacco Free Association of Zambia TOFAZA has noted the need for Zambia to be more practical in enforcing laws that protect children from child labour in tobacco farms considering that Zambia is a signatory to numerous treaties against child injustices.

TOFAZA executive director Brenda Chitindi says child labour in tobacco farming is worse as the activity is labour intensive and demands long hours.

Ms. Chitindi is concerned that children in Zambia continue to be exposed to such activities, a situation that puts their health and wellbeing at risk.

She says stakeholders are looking upto government to focus on creating laws that are practical to enforce and monitor so that children are released from such hazardous works.
