Govt reassures retirees to receive what they worked for

Minister of community development and social services Doreen Mwamba has reassured retirees who have been staging protests at the ministry to push for the payment of the benefits that her ministry is doing everything possible to ensure they receive what they worked for.

Mrs Mwamba has however explained that the retirees issue was only referred to her ministry because the retirees appear to be vulnerable people in society.

She says her ministry is having talks with the ministries of finance and justice to ensure the retirees are paid their money

Mrs Mwamba has assured the retirees that the ministry of justice is working on their issue.

Some retirees today protested at the ministry of community development and social services to push for their dues.
