Media Network on child rights and development, executive director Henry Kabwe, says it is unfortunate most of defilement cases are going unattended to without any kind of repercussions to perpetrators.

According to the Zambia police service a total of 2,238 child defilement cases which amount to 72.6% have been recorded in the first quarter of the year.

Mr. Kabwe is worried that the defiling of the youths is proving to be a never ending problem in the country.

He has told Qtv news in an interview that despite it being worked on from time to time, the defilers never seem to find anything wrong with their actions thus leading to them continuing in their misconduct.

Mr. Kabwe says this problem needs to be addressed and put to a stop before it brings the country to ruin.

He further points out how saddening it is that family members are not doing anything to prevent this but are rather receiving money from those that are accused of defiling their children.
