Republican Vice-President Mutale Nalumango has said the EU/Zambia Economic Forum has provided a good platform for fostering interaction and partnerships between Zambian and European businesses.

Mrs. Nalumango notes that the outcome of the two day event which was graced by President Hakainde Hichilema is evident of the vibrant relationship between Zambia and the European Union.

The Vice-President said this during the gala dinner to mark the closure of the forum at the Mulungushi International Conference Center in Lusaka last evening.

Mrs Nalumango says she is optimistic that a lot of joint ventures and mutually beneficial enterprises will continue to flow as alliances have been created.

She further disclosed that the New Dawn Government will over the next five years focus on stimulating a faster growing economy, develop skills, create opportunities, deepen democracy and strengthening the rule of law as part of the fulfillment of campaign promises.

Speaking at the same event, EU Head of Delegation to Zambia and COMESA, Jacek Jankowski urged the foreign delegates to support Zambia as the country has demonstrated to be a beautiful and peaceful destination based on the peaceful transition of power last year.

Earlier, Minister of Tourism and Arts Rodney Sikumba says delegates are key to fostering trade between the EU and Zambia in the quest to attain Zambia’s target of attracting over US$5 billion worth of investments from the EU.
