The Zambia STEM Foundation has called on government to help create an enabling environment that connects local innovators with potential financiers so that their innovations can be brought to the limelight

Foundation Programs Officer, Florence Jediah Mulenga says most Zambian innovators have brilliant ideas which have the potential to help address national challenges, but are lacking the platform to showcase their ideas to attract funding.

Ms. Mulenga has told Q-News that for a growing economy such as Zambia’s, innovation is one of the potential sectors which can act as a key driver to economic growth.

She says some of the brilliant innovations require that the innovator travels out of the country in order to bring their innovations to the limelight.

Ms. Mulenga, however, states that the Zambia STEM Foundation is already making deliberate steps to bridge the gap by connecting investors and innovators in Zambia.
