Opposition democratic party (DP) leader harry Kalaba has accused president Hakainde Hichilema of applying double standards in his purported fight against corruption.
Mr. Kalaba tells q fm news that president Hichilema has failed to act accordingly when cases of corruption against UPND senior members are presented to him.
In a telephone interview, Mr. Kalaba says the head of state and his government is however very quick to act when the case involves an opposition leader or someone affiliated to the opposition.
Mr. Kalaba cited the issue where an audio recording went viral implicating the president’s political advisor levy ngoma hinting at coercing the registrar of societies to side against the Kalaba camp in the DP ownership saga a few months ago and the matter was swept under the carpet. He says the status quo is exactly how former republican president Edgar Lungu started and it coasted him and the pf the presidency.
