Govt aware of challenges in the education sector

Minister of education Douglas Syakalima says the new dawn government is alive to the challenges facing the education sector, particularly education for the marginalized populations in rural areas and the under privileged.

Mr. Syakalima says government is cognizant of the important role that that education plays in shaping human capita as a secondary social institution towards attaining the vision 2030.

Mr. Syakalima was speaking in a speech read on his behalf by permanent secretary  Joel Kamoko during the launch of the voice and accountability project and civil society for poverty reduction (CSPR) strategic plan 2022-2026.

He disclosed that government is committed to making sure that these challenges are clearly addressed and strengthen service delivery in the country.

Speaking at the same event, world bank zambia country representative Sarh Kpundeh has observed that there is still more that needs to be done to enhance the education sector in Zambia so that the beneficiaries are engaged.

And in a vote of thanks, a young person from the save the girls organization Sibeso Liswaniso has noted the need for stakeholders to accord young children a permanent seat at the table of the Zambian education system
