The council of churches in Zambia (CCZ)has condemned the calls by some united party for national development (UPND) cadres who have given an ultimatum to the director of public prosecution (DPP) Mrs Lilian Siyuni to resign failure to which they would stage a protest.

General Secretary Emmanuel Chikoya says in a statement that in as much as it is a democratic right for people to express themselves, there are specifications in accordance with the constitution of Zambia as ably guided by the minister of justice which provides for the removal of the DPP.

Fr. Chikoya notes that the tendency by some political party cadres bullying and harassing civil servants and public servants should be condemned as it is a culture that should not be allowed to exist in the current political dispensation.

He charges that they may be some challenges in the way the DPP is handling cases however it does not justify the methodology employed by the UPND cadres adding that such action must be followed by stern disciplinary action against the perpetrators.
