Justice Minister Mulambo Haimbe has dismissed allegations suggesting that president Hakainde Hichilema has interfered in the director of public prosecutions functions by instructing to grant immunity to any persons facing criminal proceedings before the court.

Speaking at a media briefing in Lusaka, Mr. Haimbe says no such instructions have been issued as doing so would be abhorrent to the principle of the new dawn government to protect the institutions of governance and rule of law.

He disclosed that neither the president nor state house met with former Konkola copper mines provisional liquidator Milingo lungu to bargain for immunity.

And the presidential spokesperson Anthony Bwalya has reiterated that state house has never conveyed a meeting with Mr. Lungu.
