Opposition Patriotic Front Chairperson for Information and Publicity Raphael Nakachinda claims he has information of an alleged deal struck at State House granting former KCM provisional Liquidator Milingo Lungu immunity from prosecution.

Mr. Nakachinda says he is in possession of a consent agreement which was made in the interest of the state during a meeting allegedly attended by President Hakainde Hichilema, Finance Minister Dr. Situmbeko Musokotwane, Mr. Lungu and his Lawyers and State House officials.

Addressing a media briefing in Lusaka today, Mr. Nakachinda has since challenged President Hichilema, Dr Musokotwane and Mr. Lungu to deny whether a deal was not made in what was called state interest and guaranteed immunity to Mr.Lungu.

Meanwhile Mr. Nakacinda has expressed concern and disappointed over the women’s movement’s silence on attacks on the Director of Public Prosecutions Lillian Siyuni form some sections of society following her decision to enter  a nolle prosequi in the case of former KCM provisional liquidator Milingo Lungu who was later re-arrested by the DEC.

Mr. Nakacinda states that what is currently going on is propaganda deliberately being orchestrated to demonize the office of the DPP and its current holder.

He has also expressed disappointed with the stance taken by the Law Association of Zambia over the conduct of Ms Siyuni.

LAZ has stated that the exclusive mandate of the DPP does not extend to directing or instructing when, who and why to arrest or re-arrest any suspect by DEC or any other law enforcement agency in the exercise of their legal mandate, before or after a nolle prosequi has been entered.
