Vice president Mutale Nalumango says education is an equalizer of development that every Zambian family must prioritize.

Speaking when she graced the K450,000 ABSA scholarship launch in partnership with Bread of Life Church International, Mrs Nalumango says government appreciates this partnership because the scholarship launch is not only life changing to the recipients, but also unlocks a generation that will help build a Zambia that is economically sustainable and prosperous through education.

She says the new dawn government has begun with the free education policy up to grade 12 for every eligible Zambian across the country so that parents and guardians are relieved of the burden associated with the cost of accessing education.

Mrs Nalumango says this is a subsidy that has a multiplier effect which every home countrywide is appreciating as part of the UPND’s development agenda.

Speaking earlier, ABSA Zambia managing director, Mizinga Melu says the sponsorship worth K450, 000 will benefit 25 tertiary students in different tertiary institutions until they graduate.

And Bread of Life Church International General Overseer, Bishop Joseph Imakando has noted that it is rare to have a bank giving back to the community in the Covid-19 times as most of them are focused on making profits.
