The ruling United Party for National Development in Lusaka Province has challenged Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Lillian Siyuni to resign on moral ground.

Speaking during a press briefing today, UPND Lusaka Province Chairperson Obvious Mwaliteta has accused the DPP of siding with PF officials in her operations by entering nolle prosequis in cases involving PF officials while she has never done the same for cases involving UPND members who were wrongly arrested.

Mr Mwaliteta says the DPP is not working in line with the UPND agenda of fighting corruption in the country as she has continued to discontinue cases involving individuals suspected of involvement in corruption.

He says the UPND will not condone anyone supporting corruption and will therefore not allow the DPP to remain in her position.

Meanwhile Mr Mwaliteta has challenged all PF officials still serving in public offices to resign or be forced out of office.

He says PF officials in public offices should stop frustrating the UPND’s efforts to fight corruption in the country.
