Ration the purchase of fuel by members of public – Magande

Former Finance Minister Ngandu Magande has urged government to reduce the number of government vehicles going to the Kuomboka ceremony in order to reduce the cost to be incurred on transportation.

Speaking in an interview with Q-news, Mr. Magande notes that government should not go ahead to procure the 10 million liters of petrol for the transportation of government officials to the Kuomboka ceremony, but instead directed the resources to other priorities such as health and education.

Mr. Magande also urges members of the public not to use private vehicles when going for the Kuomboka ceremony, but use public transport as it will help in keeping fuel in the country prevent a deficit in the country.

He states that in view of the increase in the cost of fuel, there is need for government to start rationing on the purchase of fuel by members of public in order to preserve fuel in the country.
