Governance Activist Brebner Changala has called on president Hakainde Hichilema to fire Information Minister Chushi Kasanda and Ministry Spokesperson Thabo Kawana.
Mr. Changala says president Hichilema should also consider abolishing the ministry of information which he feels is currently merely playing a propaganda role for the government.
Mr. Changala says there is more confusion in the ministry with what he has described as a junior officer who is below the Permanent Secretary and other senior directors taking up the role of ministry Spokesperson and speaking out more than the minister.
Mr. Changala tells Q-News that the Ministry of Information is an office which should only be found in territorial regimes where there is dictatorship.
Meanwhile Mr. Changala has reminded president Hichilema to keep to his word of constantly engaging the media and the nation through press conferences where he can address various national matters through question and answer.
He laments that the head of state has disappeared from the media at a time when the nation and citizens have a lot of unanswered questions on high unemployment, the economy and the high cost of living among other things that need his answers and assurances.
