The Resident Doctors Association of Zambia (RDAZ) has welcomed the quantity of the various positions advertised for recruitment within the health sector by government.

Association President, Dr. Brian Sampa has told Q-news in an interview that RDAZ is satisfied with the number of positions that have been advertised in the print media.

Dr. Sampa says he is hopeful that the recruitment of over 500 doctors is going to cushion what he terms as the health crisis the country has been grappling with for a long time.

He notes that a doctor cannot work alone because the health sector thrives on coordinated team work, hence the recruitment of other health personnel including cleaners and security guards among others is very cardinal and their importance cannot be overemphasized.

Dr. Sampa explains that people should not mistake his advocacy for the recruitment of 800 doctors as an assertion that other sectors should not be employed.

The RDAZ President has since stressed the Association will now wait to see how the recruitment process unfolds and is hopeful that transparency will prevail at every level.
