The Anti Corruption Commission has arrested and charged opposition PF Acting President Given Lubinda with five counts of being in possession of properties suspected to be proceeds of crime.

This is in a matter in which Mr. Lubinda has been under investigation since January 2022 when he was first summoned for questioning and a warn and caution statement recorded from him.

Mr. Lubinda who arrived for questioning at the ACC offices around 14:12 hours in the company of former PF Secretary General Davies Mwila among others, has since been released on bond.

Speaking to journalists after being released, Mr. Lubinda said he is happy that finally heed his advice to the new dawn government to take those alleged to have stolen public resources to court.

The PF acting president says his appearance in court on 21st April,2021 is a good opportunity to defend himself and prove his innocence.

And Mr. Lubinda has accused the New Dawn Administration of being hypocritical in its dispensation of governance.

Meanwhile former PF Secretary General Davies Mwila has described the summoning of Mr. Lubinda as part of the continued acts of intimidation and harassment of PF members by the UPND alliance government.

He says prior to the 2021 general election, the UPND had created an impression that the PF had stolen a lot of public resources, but that eight months after taking over government they are failing to produce evidence of what was stolen and by who.
