The Zambian Empowerment Hub for Entrepreneurship and Skills Training (ZEHEST) has appealed to government to prioritize youth skills in economic development.

ZEHEST Executive Director Clarence Muzyamba has commended the new dawn government and President Hakainde Hichilema for leading the call for the active participation of young people in Zambia’s economic reconstruction and development.

Mr. Muzyamba states that as a youth led  non-governmental organization working around entrepreneurship and empowerment programs, policies and projects, his organization is of the view that the government must actualize its commitment to ensure youths are equipped with skills such as carpentry, tailoring, bricklaying, agriculture and metal fabrication among others.

In a statement ahead of youth day commemoration which falls tomorrow,March 8th, Mr. Muzyamba states that this year’s youth day theme” : Enhancing Youth Participation at all levels of National Development,” resonates well with government’s commitment to enhance youth’s participation in the development of the country.
