Oriental Quarries Boxing Promotions Manager Christopher Malunga has declared that the stable is ready to host the WBC Super Bantam Weight fight between Zambia’s Catherine Phiri and Zimbabwean Kudakwashe Chiwandire.
The WBC Championship bout which was initially supposed to be staged on 29th January is set to be held on 26th February, 2022 at the Government Complex in Lusaka.
And Malunga has disclosed that the Ministry of Sports, Youth and Arts has come on board to help raise resources for the bout to be staged.
He has told QTV sports that the details of how much the stable has raised will be communicated to the general public within the course of the week.
Malunga has noted that the postponement of the bout has given Phiri and other boxers under the stable enough time to fine tune their training and are eager to showcase their prowess in the ring.
