The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has unveiled Croatian national Aljosa Asanovic as new Chipolopolo head coach on a 4-year performance based contract.
Prior to his appointment as national team coach, Asanovic was Technical Advisor for the Chipolopolo during the 2022 Qatar Fifa World cup qualifiers.
And FAZ General Secretary Adrian Kashala says key among the expectations from the new coach is qualifying the Chipolopolo to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations to be hosted by the Ivory Coast.
Speaking during the unveiling in Lusaka today, Kashala says there is no time for excuses of rebuilding the team because the team is already there.
He says Asanovic has ample time to assembly a team that should qualify the team to the next edition of the continental showpiece and that the time to begin work is now.
And the new Coach Asanovic has promised to qualify the Chipolopolo to next edition of the AFCON tournament.
