Newly appointed Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) Director General Mary Chirwa has been called upon to expedite criminal financial investigations involving officials of the previous PF regime.

Some Stakeholders have told QTV news that Ms. Chirwa has enough evidence on her hands.

Civil Rights Activist Brebner Changala expects suspects to be questioned and taken to court for prosecution without any further delay.

Mr. Changala notes that the new dawn administration is only five months in office and yet the expectations of Zambians are dwindling due to lack progress in bringing the culprits to book.

He says Zambians are not interested in the Police arresting people for defamation of the President, but want to see all those who looted public money made accountable as promised by the ruling party during its campaigns.

Mr Changala says Zambians want to know how Politicians, Civil Servants and some Directors in public offices became rich overnight.

And Civil Servants and Allied Workers Union of Zambia President Davy Chiyobe says he expects heightened investigations and bringing to book all those involved in the theft of public funds especially that there are some civil servants who were involved in the misappropriation of funds.

Meanwhile Governance Activist Isaac Mwanza has commended President Hichilema for appointing Ms. Chirwa as DEC Director General, urging her to rise above board and ensure that only cases that are worthy prosecuting are taken to court.

But Zambia Congress of Trade Unions (ZCTU) President Nkole Chishimba says people should not be over expectant, but support the new DEC Director General achieve the vision of the President.
