The opposition Patriotic Front has charged that Zambians should brace themselves for a year filled with social, economic and political hardships due to misdirected policy measures the UPND government is pursuing.

Addressing a media briefing touching on various national issues, PF acting president Given Lubinda says the increase in fuel prices and the looming electricity tariffs hike will increase the cost of living for the Zambians who are already suffering.

Mr. Lubinda says the UPND should focus on delivering on their promises to the people, stating citizens will no longer accept or tolerate the excuses the ruling party used to give last year.

He states that the PF will provide objective checks and balances and will not in any way be antagonistic, with its first assignment for the year 2022 being to ensure that the UPND government delivers on its campaign promises.

And the PF has called on the UPND government to immediately release monies for CDF to ensure members of parliament begin to work on various projects including the provision of bursaries to students in their constituencies.

Meanwhile the PF acting president says preparations for the party convention are progressing very well.
