United Party for National Development UPND secretary general Batuke Imenda has urged the Zambia police to arrest all those involved in political violence ahead of the kabwata parliamentary by-election regardless of political affiliation.
Addressing a media briefing in Lusaka today ,Mr Imenda has since warned UPND members engaging in violence that the party will not defend any member engaging in political violence.
He says the party will not condone political violence in the Kabwata parliamentary by-election, but will campaign using the achievements they have so far made.
Mr Imenda notes that violence is one of the reasons why the pf lost the elections on august 12, 2021.
He has also called on law enforcement authorities to ensure there is a level playing field in the Kabwata by-election.
And UPND spokesperson Cornelius Mweetwa says the party’s legal team will not defend any member abrogating the law by inciting violence.
