The Chongwe fire brigade has retrieved the body of a 24-year old man of Palabana who had drowned in a dam.
The deceased who has been identified as Ian Nzala of Machi-machi farm in Palabana area drowned on Tuesday afternoon as he attempted to swim across the dam to rescue a duck that was stuck in a tree on the opposite side of the dam.
Confirming the development to q-news, Chongwe municipal council public relations officer, Cecilia Musonda says the fire brigade working together with the police and members of the community searched for the deceased’s body from Tuesday when he drowned and only managed to retrieve it yesterday in the evenings.
