CHALIMBANA,CAPAH signs MOU for MPs degree program

CHALIMBANA UNIVERSITY has signed a memorandum of understanding with the coalition of African parliamentarians against HIV/AIDS (CAPAH) for  a degree programme on leadership and governance which will be offered to law makers.

The higher learning institution has developed an academic training programme in leadership and governance for members of parliament in partnership the coalition of African parliamentarians against HIV/AIDS (CAPAH) aimed at enhancing the members of parliaments understanding of leadership and governance.

Officiating at the signing ceremony at Chalimbana, first deputy speaker of the national assembly attractor Chisangano said the program is timely and very important as it will equip parliamentarians with skills that are needed in the execution of their duties and towards national development.

Ms Chisangano stated that the program is aimed at cultivating patriotism and sustainable national development through the creation of learned and well vested parliamentarians with issues of governance and leadership.

He has since urged all involved in the development and implementation of the program to give it the utmost attention and seriousness, further urging all parliamentarians to apply for the program.

And speaking at the same occasion, minister of education Douglas Syakalima called those involved in developing the curriculum to hasten the process so that the program is launched in 2022.

And Chalimbana university vice chancellor Dr. Geoffrey Tumbulukani disclosed that the curriculum has already been developed and it is awaiting approval from the relevant authorities for it to used in the program.
