ZAMRA guides on production of sanitizers

The Zambia Medicines Regulatory Authority (ZAMRA) has stressed the need for production of hand sanitizers and disinfectants to consistently conform to recommended formulations and standards before placement on the market.

ZAMRA public relations officer Christabel Iliamupu has further urged business outlets across the country to ensure hand sanitizers and disinfectants placed for use at their respective entrances are purchased from authorised manufacturers and distributors.

Mrs. Iliamupu says this will ensure effective mitigation and prevention of the Coronavirus by guaranteeing that all COVID-19 related products made available to the Zambian population consistently meet the required standards of quality, safety and effectiveness.

She has also encouraged members of the public to purchase all medicines and allied substances from reputable stores and outlets to be assured of their quality.
