Environmentalist Reuben Lifuka has called for a Multisectoral and holistic approach in dealing with challenges of climate change in the country.
Speaking to q-news in a phone interview, Mr. Lifuka says if the country continues with the traditional methods of managing waste without going into the secular economy or without looking at greener production approaches in the manufacturing sector, it will defeat the purpose for addressing the issues of climate change.
He says at the policy level, there is need for consistence so that the policies on climate change speak to each other.
Mr. Lifuka says conversations around climate change require various stakeholders to play a role in addressing the challenges of climate change.
He says it is not about government alone making a commitment to addressing climate change, but about industries committing to net zero carbon emissions.
