The case in which opposition Patriotic Front (PF) Member of the Central Committee in-charge of Information and Publicity Raphael Nakacinda is charged with Defamation of the President has failed to take-off at the Lusaka Magistrates Court today.

This after the State failed to present the docket before court in order for Mr Nakachinda to take plea.

When the matter came up before Chief Resident Magistrate Dominic Makalachi, the State Prosecutor informed the court that the charge sheet for Mr. Nakacinda has not yet been brought before court.

And the lawyers representing Mr. Nakacinda have expressed shock over the failure by the State to present the docket before court.

Makebi Zulu of Makebi Zulu Advocates who is one of the lawyers representing Mr Nakachinda has expressed disappointment that the docket has not been brought before court when his client had been summoned by the state to appear before court on 21st December, 2021.

Meanwhile, Mr. Nakacinda has told journalists after the adjournment of his case that he will continue to provide checks and balances.

Mr. Nakacinda has been charged with Defamation of the President following his claims that President Hakainde Hichilema has been summoning judges to his house to coerce them into turning Zambia into a one party state.

He was escorted TO COURT by senior PF members including former PF Secretary General Davies Mwila and presidential hopeful Emmanuel Mwamba among others.
