Government says it wants a win-win situation in the mining sector to grow the country’s economy.

Mines Minister, Paul Kabuswe, says the government’s desire is to see investors happy while local communities and government benefit from the mining proceeds.

ZANIS reports that Mr Kabuswe was speaking when he held a meeting with the management at SUN-HE Manufacturing Limited, a mining extraction company in Chisamba District of Central Province.

Mr Kabuswe says Investors must respect Zambians and treat them as human beings, adding that the government will always respect investments but that investors must reciprocate by respecting workers.

He says the government would want to see value added to raw materials as opposed to exporting dust.

He further urges mining companies in the country to support local suppliers and contractors to bolster the economy.

Mr Kabuswe who was accompanied by Central Province Minister, Credo Nanjuwa and Provincial Deputy Permanent Secretary, Godfrey Chitambala, earlier visited the notorious Kawasaki dumpsite and Union Star Industry in Kabwe.

And SUN HE Manufacturing Limited Director, Emily Sun, told Mr Kabuswe and his entourage that the extraction company has invested about 60-Million United States Dollars.

Ms Sun says  the company is currently employing about 400 Zambians and intends to scale up investments up to 130-Million United States Dollars.

She informed the minister that the company is already being socially responsible and has constructed a 1 X 3 Classroom block at Kampumba School and three maternity rooms at Kampumba clinic.
