Government has assured that it will soon embark on the construction of Maramba Stadium in Livingstone whose works have stalled for years.

Minister of Youth, Sport and Arts Elvis Nkandu says Government wants to ensure Maramba Stadium is completed and ready for use not long from now.

Mr Nkandu said Government will allocate funds as well as utilise the 300,000 United States Dollars apportioned to the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) by FIFA to build the stadium.

ZANIS reports that Mr Nkandu said this when he inspected Maramba Stadium in Livingstone over the weekend.

The Minister was accompanied by Livingstone Area Member of Parliament who is also Tourism Minister Rodney Sikumba, Livingstone Mayor, Constance Muleabai and other Ministry officials.

And Mr Sikumba said the completion of the stadium will complement the many features that a tourist capital should possess.

Mr Sikumba said currently, Livingstone does not have any Sporting infrastructure where tourists can visit and get some sports entertainment from.
