Minister of health Sylvia Masebo has urged Zambians not to fall prey to myths and misconceptions surrounding the covid-19 vaccines and take the vaccination call seriously.
Mrs Masebo says the vaccination program is currently the only sure way to prevent the further spread of the coronavirus and has no substitution.
Speaking when she visited the pope square vaccination site in Lusaka where she received over 580, 000 doses of the pfizer vaccine from the us government, Mrs Masebo says Zambians should be weary of the increase in new cases of covid-19.
And during the covid-19 national update, Mrs Masebo announced that the country has recorded a total of 1, 294 cases of new infections from a total of 9 thousand and six tests conducted in the last 24 hours with one death recorded.
Speaking at the same event, us embassy deputy chief of mission martin dale said over 1.2 million doses of vaccines have been administered in Zambia since covid-19 was detected and have proved effective.
