The civil servants and allied workers union of Zambia says it has not yet concluded consultations on government’s pronouncement that civil servants will require to show proof of being vaccinated against covid in order for them to access their work places.

union president Davy Chiyobe says the consultations with the ministry of health have now reached a negotiation stage but could not give further details.

And Mr. Chiyobe says the union is still assessing whether there is any civil servant who is not yet vaccinated that is being discriminated by being barred from accessing their on places on this basis.

He however says this information is only expected to be known by early next month.

Late last month, health minister Sylvia Masebo announced among other measures that civil servants should show proof of being fully vaccinated in order to be allowed entry to their work places.
