Nakachinda still in police custody

Police in Lusaka at Chelston Police are still keeping in custody patriotic front member of the central committee, in charge of information and publicity, Raphael Nakachinda who is accused of defaming republican president, Hakainde Hichilema.

Mr. Nakachinda’s detention follows his allegations that president Hakainde Hichilema has been summoning judges to his residence to persuade them to bring a one party state.

This is amid the hearing of a judicial review application by eight pf members of parliament who were challenging speaker of the national assembly, Nelly Mutti’s decision to chase them from parliament following the nullification of their seats.

The eight Mp’s have since withdrawn the matter through their lawyer.

On Wednesday, police warned and cautioned Mr. Nakachinda on the charge of defamation of the president but did not formerly arrest him and remains in police detention
