Court adjourns ruling in a matter involving 9 PF MPs

The matter in which nine patriotic front members of parliament are seeking leave to challenge the decision by speaker of the national assembly nelly mutti to bar them from attending parliamentary business has been indefinitely.

Ms Mutti in her ruling of 8th December, 2021 ordered Kabushi member of parliament Bowman Lusambo and eight other mps whose seats have been nullified by the high court to stop attending parliamentary business until their appeals were heard and determined by the constitutional court.

But the 9 parliamentarians who include Nakonde’s Lukas Simumba, Chinsali’s Kalalwe Mukosa, Lunte’s Mutotwe Kafwaya, lubansenshi’s taulo chewe, mkushi north’s christopher chibuye, Kwacha’s Joseph Malanji and Chimwemwe’s Allen Banda have sought judicial review.

When the matter came up for ruling this morning, representatives of the former ruling party were told that the matter has been adjourned to a later date and lawyers for both parties have been communicated to.

PF senior member Chishimba Kambwili confirmed the development to journalists.
