Former Home Affairs Minister Stephen Kampyongo has arrived in Chinsali district and is detained at Chinsali Police Station over the 2015 UPND campaign Chopper attack in Shiwang’andu District.
Mr Kampyongo who arrived at Chinsali police station at exactly 13:53 hrs this afternoon is detained awaiting the arrival of his lawyer before he can be formally charged and arrested.
By 17:00 hrs this afternoon, his lawyer George Chisanga had not yet arrived in Chinsali District.
Mr. Kampyongo who whilst acting together with others, is allegedly to have endangered the safety of an Aircraft and its Passengers at Kalalantekwe School grounds in Shiwang’andu district on the 2nd of January, 2015.
Police in Lusaka yesterday recorded a warn and caution statement from Mr Kampyongo for the offence of Endangering Safety Contrary to Section 8(f) of CAP 445 Safety of Civil Aviation Act of the laws of Zambia.
Meanwhile, several Patriotic Front (PF) officials and supporters gathered at Chinsali Police Station to witness the arrival of Mr. Kampyongo.
