Republican president Hakainde Hichilema says his first 100 days in office where for him and his government to understand better where there are leakages in the systems and seal them.
President Hichilema says his government has now established which areas have leakages and now knows exactly how to seal the leakages.
He said this today at statehouse when he swore in more permanent secretaries, the DMMU national coordinator officials appointed to various senior government positions.
President Hichilema has assured that those appointed include Mr. Siazongo Siakalenge as deputy secretary to the cabinet finance, mr. Norman Chipakupaku as ministry of defence permanent secretary, Ms. Mwamba Mainga as PS gender, Mr. Patrick Mucheleka as PS special duties cabinet office and Mr. Maambo Hamaundu as PS for administration at the ministry of local government and rural development.
others are Mr. Evans Muhanga who has been appointed as PS ministry of tourism, MS Kusobile Kamwambi as PS management division at cabinet office, and Dr. Gabriel pollen who has been appointed as DMMU national coordinator.
And president Hichilema has encouraged those appointed to practice and promote what is right charging that the country has in the last seven years promoted wrong things and those who seemed to stand for what is right where dismissed.
The head of state reiterated the need for the permanent secretaries who are controlling officers to respect and protect public resources as well as help grow the public resources for the benefit of the people.
Meanwhile, president Hichilema has directed the newly appointed permanent secretary for tourism Evans Muhanga not to allow monopoly in the tourism sector especially in awarding hunting concessions.
