The Foundation for Democratic Process (FODEP) has encouraged Members of Parliament who feel aggrieved over the nullification of their seats by the courts to appeal to the Constitutional Court as provided for under Article 73 Clause 3 of the republican constitution.

FODEP Executive Director George Chimembe has since commended the courts for the good job done in dispersing justice in dealing with the election petitions.

Mr. Chimembe has appealed to the general public to respect the decisions of the courts of law and desist from exerting pressure on the courts so that they work independently.

He has since advised those who might be aggrieved by the outcomes of the petitions to appeal through the right means.

Mr. Chimembe has further clarified that those whose seats have been nullified still have right to keep their seats in the national assembly until their matters are conclusively determined by the court process as provided for under Article 73 Clause 4 of the Constitution.
