Families are Nations is concerned with the high rate of defilement case being recorded in the country despite the harsh punishment for perpetrators.

organization’s country director Judith Mwila tells Q news that the rate at which defilement cases are being recorded is alarming.

Ms. Mwila said people seem not to be learning from those that have been given jail sentences because of defiling children adding that it is unfortunate that the vice is the order of the day.

She however called on parents to scrutinize the mentality of the people they leave their children with so that they are not defiled.

Ms. Mwila says  that fighting defilement should start at household level adding that children can only be safe if parents really know the people they leave their children with.
