Govt commends private efforts in promoting water security

Government has commended the private sector and other cooperating partners in supplementing its efforts in promoting water security in Lusaka.

Speaking during the Chief Executive Officers’ brunch and the partnership signing ceremony of the Lusaka water security initiative in Lusaka today, Water development and sanitation Minister Mike Mposha says government recognizes the important role the private sector and other players play in contributing to the country’s economic transformation.

Mr Mposha says government alone cannot meet the needs and aspirations of the Zambian people with regards the provision of safe water without the help of the private sector.

Speaking at the same event, World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Chief Conservation officer Isabel Mukelabai stressed the need for government to promote the provision of safe water throughout the country.
