Republican President Haakainde Hichilema says he expects results from investigative agencies probing the death of Kabwata Member of Parliament Levy Mkandawire.
Speaking to journalists after visiting the funeral house of the late MP in Woodlands area yesterday, President Hichilema says it is unfortunate and shocking to lose the Kabwata lawmaker in such circumstances.
He has described Mr Mkandawire as a loyal member of the ruling party who has left a gap in the UPND.
President Hichilema says Mr Mkandawire was always consistent in his contribution to the growth of the party.
The Head of State says Kabwata residents have lost a gallant soldier who had a good vision for the constituency.
He has consoled and encouraged the bereaved family to remain strong during their mourning period
And family representative Ackim Chirwa says the family is shocked with the death of the Kabwata Member of Parliament who he has described as the pillar of the family.
Mr Mkandawire 60, died on Thursday last week after a BMW X5 motor vehicle lost control and hit him as he was trying to open the gate to his house.
