The Commuters Rights Association of Zambia (CRAZ) has called on the Zambia Police Service to come out clearly and state whether they have started mounting Police check points and not the current situation where its being done secretly.

Association president Aaron Kamuti says some traffic Police officers are mounting secret snap check points on certain roads when they have been banned.

Mr. Kamuti tells QTV news that these traffic officers have been seen along Cairo and chachacha roads and sometimes along the highways.

He says the Police should therefore come out in the open and tell citizens where to expect to find Police traffic officers to avoid acts of corruption.

Mr Kamuti states that by so doing, it will be known if at all the officers are doing it out of duty or in their own individual capacity as a way of extorting money from innocent citizens.
