Stop the bleeding, HH tells new Perm Secs

President Hakainde Hichilema has appointed and sworn-in a number of Permanent Secretaries and other senior government officials.

And President Hichilema has implored the newly appointed Permanent Secretary to reign in on the debt burden and public expenditure.

Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony at State House today, President Hichilema says the past way of running public affairs will not continue, including taking what belongs to the people of Zambia.

He says as controlling officers, Permanent secretaries are the ones to stop the situation were government is procuring things way above the true cost.

President Hichilema has pointed out that there is too much bleeding in the procurement of fertilizer, fuel and infrastructure development which must be resolved.

Some of those sworn-in are Christopher Mundia as special assistant to the president for legal affairs, Pamela Nakamba as Economic advisor to the President, Levy Ngoma as special assistant to the president for political affairs.

Others are Isabel Lemba as Permanent Secretary at the ministry of foreign affairs for international relations and cooperation, Wisdom Bwalya as PS Home Affairs, Professor Lackson Kasonka as PS technical services at the ministry of health,Joe Kamoko as Permanent secretary technical services in the ministry of education,Mrs Mwenya Kayela Bwalya as permanent secretary legislative drafting at the ministry of justice ,Dickson Matembo as PS home Affairs among others.
