Vice President W.K. Mutale Nalumango has Urged Women in Various Professions to Take Keen Interest in Politics to Push for Their Agenda.

Mrs. Nalumango is concerned with the Low Levels of Women Representation at Parliamentary and Local Government Level.

She Says It Is Disheartening That Zambia Is Among The Countries With The Lowest Representation Of Women In Politics In Southern Africa And That This Narrative Has To Change.

Mrs. Nalumango Says If More Women Participate In Politics, It Would Drive The Gender Equality Agenda Forward.

The Vice President Was Speaking When She Opened The Forum For Zambia Women Accountants -FZWA- 4th National Symposium And Annual General Meeting In Lusaka Today.

She Says Women’s Roles In Society Have Changed Over The Years And Are Key Players In Achieving Economic Development Because They Also Take Up Leadership Positions.

Meanwhile, Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants -ZICA- President Cecilia Zimba Said the New Dawn Administration’s Zero Tolerance to Corruption Policy Can Be Achieved through Financial and Fiscal Discipline.

Ms. Zimba Said ZICA Will Play Its Part In Pushing Women To Take Up Leadership Positions As She Is An Example By Being The First Woman President Of The Institution.

And In Passing A Vote Of Thanks, FZWA National Coordinator Muyaka Ngulube Thanked The Vice President For Advising Women To Take Up Leadership Positions.

Earlier, FZWA vice National Coordinator Hellen Kalumbi Noted That Mrs. Nalumango’s Acceptance to Grace the Event Is Evidence of Government’s Passion to See Women Participate in Economic Development
