Minister of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development Charles Milupi has called for the need to ensure that road construction projects met design specifications.

Mr. Milupi further retaliated government’s concern over the cost of recently undertaken road infrastructure projects.

The minister called for need to ensure value for money in these projects, as National Council for Construction NCC in collaboration with the Road Development Agency RDA commences testing of asphalt cores for the newly rehabilitated roads under the l400 project.

Mr. Milupi said this during his familiarization tour of NCC.

The initial phase targets five roads which were randomly selected for testing using the ncc – construction material testing laboratory to ascertain their quality.

And NCC executive director Eng. Ernest Nshindano says the council remains committed to improving the quality of infrastructure in support of national development by ensuring that projects are undertaken within the acceptable costs, quality and time.

Eng. Nshindano has urged contractors to ensure that they comply with all necessary regulations and specifications as per client needs.
