Minister of Lands and Natural Resources Elijah Muchima says government has made strides in addressing the challenges of land titling through the Smart Zambia initiative.

Mr. Muchima has said during a press briefing today that the progress made constitutes a roadmap made by the government and the Copperbelt University as another stakeholder.

He says previously, there was rampant corruption involved in the processes of land titling and people were losing trust and confidence in the institution.

The Minister adds that the issue has been persevering since the days of the MMD and the New Dawn Administration is determined to eliminate it permanently through stakeholder engagement.

Speaking at the same event, Minister of Technology and Science Felix Mutati says the main objective of the engagement is to use technology to stop the bleeding at the Ministry of Lands.

Mr Mutati says he believes that the multi-stakeholder approach has the capabilities to remove the rot at the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources including the long queues.
